Our Regions, Branches and Groups
Our Branches and Groups are split into nine Regions. All Regions and Branches are represented by an elected Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and - in most cases - a Welfare Officer. Groups are represented by a Group Leader.
Most branches have active welfare and fundraising team providing essential support to local members. Many also offer a wide range of social activities.
If you would like to attend a Branch or Group meeting for the first time please contact our Membership and Development Support Officer at Central Office. We will let you have the details of the Branch you wish to join and will contact the Branch Secretary and pass on your contact details. The Branch Secretary will then contact you and invite you to the next meeting.

Our Committee meetings are at the Sheila Russell Centre in Bilborough, Nottingham
We had our AGM in April and people from Digital Switchover came and gave a presentation. This was funded by them so our meeting room/refreshments etc were paid for. It also helped increase the number of members attending the AGM.
End of July saw 2 coaches of members having a day out at Skegness. The weather was very good to us. I understand some even had a paddle! We then all met up for fish and chips before setting off back home.
Some members of the committee were seen fund raising at Heanor Market in July.
The first weekend in August saw the committee fund raising with a Tombola Stall at the Cromford Steam Rally in Derbyshire.

During the year some of the committee attended 3 Well Being Events around Nottinghamshire. We felt that we have made Polio much more aware to people including students and we also met many people/organisations that we can tap into their wealth of knowledge/networking.
Because of the vast area we cover we get feedback from members of isolation especially in the rural areas and the council’s cut backs don’t make it any easier.
We are a fairly new and vibrant committee and the young committee members are worth their weight in gold as they can do the things some of us struggle with. The friends of the group are also a godsend at local meetings/events.

Although our title suggests that we only cover a small area, we welcome any members who lives in Kent and S.E London. We hold socials on the 1st Saturday of the month, from 2-5 pm, when we sometimes have a speaker or a quiz, or just chat, before having tea. Outings are arranged, e.g to local attractions or the cost, an Ice Show, Theatre, Trooping the Colour, Beating Retreat and the Lord Mayor's Show. We hold several collection days each year to raise money for the Branch.
